Why Digital Wellness Matters.
Teens who spend 3 hours on devices a day are 35% more likely, and those who spend more than 3 hours are 71% more likely, to have a risk factor for suicide than those who spend less than one hour.

Since social media has become mainstream there has been a 189% percent increase in self harm for girls ages 10-14. For girls aged 15 to 19, there has been a 62% increase. Deaths by suicide in the US are up 70% in older teenage girls. In pre-teen girls, suicide has risen by 151%.

As teens’ time on social media has gone up, so have their depression rates. One study found that between 2009 and 2017, rates of depression among kids ages 14-17 increased by more than 60%.

In our workshop teens will
Our workshop offers a space for teens to reflect on their social media engagement and digital habits while learning how to become more intentional with their screen time. They will take a digital inventory and connect the content they consume to the emotions they experience.
After completing the #ForMe Workshop:
84% of students had a better sense of how social media impacts their mental health after completing the workshop.
83% of students had a better understanding of how to develop a more meaningful and/or positive experience on social media after completing the workshop.
21 days after completing the workshop 80% of students said they were still actively making changes to have a more meaningful connection to social media.
